Page 5 of 7: Timeline & Budget
Seven months, costed line by line
Every cost is there to deliver the project. Most are early estimates that we'll replace with real quotes, and some may come in higher.

Timeline
Live inside the fund's window of 1 May to 1 December 2027.

- July–October 2027
Nine interpreted nights, two to three a month across the three venues. Staff training. A mid-point review.
- November 2027
Publish the access guide and a results report. Finish documentation and premiere the documentary. Close by 1 December.
What it costs
Our working budget is €17,450. The biggest unknown is interpreter rates, so we've costed the upper end too.
Working budget, with interpreters at about KSh 25,000 per booking.
If interpreter quotes come in at the KSh 40,000 ceiling we've seen for conference work. Contingency rises with it.
If artist, reviewer and fix costs also rise when real quotes arrive. We'll update this page as quotes come in.
The working budget
| Item | Amount | Share | Relative size |
|---|---|---|---|
| KSL interpreters (9 nights, 2 per night) | €3,100 | 18% | |
| Disabled artists' fees (9 slots) | €930 | 5% | |
| Disabled reviewers (3 audits) | €830 | 5% | |
| Physical fixes and signage | €1,500 | 9% | |
| Braille menus | €300 | 2% | |
| Booking tool and access guide | €1,000 | 6% | |
| Partner fees (KSLIA, Deaf-led organisation) | €1,500 | 9% | |
| Staff access training | €600 | 3% | |
| Documentation (photo, video, documentary) | €1,500 | 9% | |
| Outreach to Deaf and disabled communities | €600 | 3% | |
| Project lead fee | €4,000 | 23% | |
| Contingency (10%) | €1,590 | 9% | |
| Total | €17,450 | 100% |
Estimates, not quotes. Only the interpreter figure rests on rates we've researched, and even that is a placeholder between a low guess and a ceiling. Every other line will be replaced with real quotes from partners and suppliers.
How the money moves
- Paid in instalments, or through invoices sent directly by suppliers and the people working on the project, so interpreters, artists and reviewers can invoice for themselves
- The project lead fee covers the time to run the project, build the tools and document it
- Part of the budget is set aside for documentation, as the fund asks
- A 10% contingency protects against exchange-rate swings and late cost changes
If more funding were available
The pilot is sized to be delivered well. With more, it could reach further.
- A fourth venue, or more nights at the first three
- Building the booking tool into a fuller interpreter and artist matching platform
- KSL and audio-described versions of the access guide
